Day 1 will cover the basics of business lending, including:
– MBL and commercial lending rules, best practices, and NCUA and State regulations
– How to quickly and accurately screen and evaluate loan requests, focusing on cash flow and collateral
– Strategies for analyzing business financial data, including an overview of business tax returns and financial statements
– Developing a loan proposal, using loan covenants, and turning approved loans into closed loans
– Loan closing procedures, commercial loan documentation, liens, and legal issues
– Properly monitoring and servicing business loans including annual risk reviews and collections
Day 2 will dive deeper and discuss hot topics in business lending, including:
– An overview of key credit union business lending trends and the outlook for 2025
– How to detect, monitor, and manage problem commercial and business loans
– How to “ace” your exam with a roundtable of peers discussing how to prepare for your next exam, the hot buttons you should be aware of, and how to make sure your credit union is exam-ready
– Regulatory compliance for commercial lenders, including CFPB 1071, HMDA, Truth in Lending, ECOA, and more!

Cancellations within 30 days of the session will be charged a 15% administrative fee.
Cancellations within 7 days of the session will be charged 50% of the normal fee.
The course requires a minimum of 6 attendees or may be subject to cancellation. In the event of a cancellation by CUBG, registrants will receive either a refund or a credit towards a future course (no administrative fee applies).
